How To Stop Negativity And Start Thinking Creatively

One of the things that can get in the way of creativity is the practice of negative thinking. Some people just naturally tend to think more negatively than others. It doesn't matter, though; you can turn off your negative inclinations and learn to be more positive.
Negative Thinking Is Limiting
Right now, think of some negative things for about 30 seconds. Now you're likely finding it hard to even read this because you're thinking about how the dishes aren't put away, or you don't have enough to pay that medical bill, and other things about your daily life. Plus, now that you're thinking negatively, you're likely not looking for solutions because eventually, the negativity turns into giving up.
Acknowledge Your Negative Thinking
The first thing to do is realize and accept that almost everyone thinks negatively sometimes. It's okay to have a bad day. But it's not okay to let any negative thing that happens to you inform your entire life.
Combat Negativity with Facts
When a negative thought comes to your mind, combat it with facts. There is always someone who has it worse so if you can cite those facts convincingly to yourself, you're going to feel better - at least for yourself.
Keep a Gratitude Journal
Before you go to bed each night, write down at least three things in your life that you are grateful for today. If you're not sure what to be grateful for today, be more general such as, "I'm glad that today I managed to get through the day without going to jail."
Surround Yourself with Positive People
The more people you can find that are generally positive and don't focus on the negative, the more positive you'll become. First, you'll feel silly always trying to be negative to positive people who will point out the positives to you because that's how they think. Secondly, their positivity rubs off onto you.
Smile More
This might seem like a condescending thing to say but the truth is that when we smile with our mouths, eyes and face, it releases endorphins that make us feel better. Anytime you feel negative, think of something that makes you smile.
Take Care of Your Health
It's hard to be positive if you're not healthy. Even if you have health issues, taking the best care of yourself can make you feel better inside and out. Eat right, exercise, take your vitamins, and drink plenty of water and you're going to have the energy to be more positive. This is going to almost automatically make you more creative.
A 'Success Mindset' means that when you have challenges, you'll be able to work through them with confidence and clarity. It means that when you are presented with an opportunity you'll be able to set fears aside and take advantage of the opportunity. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Eye Opening Speech - Best MOTIVATION Ever 2019

6 Tips For Staying Motivated When You Just Don't Feel Like It

If your "get up and go" has got up and gone, here are a few suggestions to get your mojo back.
1. Stop Procrastinating
Chances are you might not be in the mood when you start, but you will gradually relax into a groove and get on with your to-do list. No matter how badly the work comes out, such as a new blog post, you have something you can edit and improve. Procrastinating will not gain you anything.
2. Don't Try to Be "Perfect"
Many business owners overwhelm themselves by thinking everything they do has to be perfect. It doesn't. It just has to get done. Do your best, of course, spellcheck your work and make sure you have said what you really mean and will not offend anyone before you hit the Send button. But otherwise, doing your best is better than doing nothing at all.
3. Avoid Overwhelm
A lot of people struggle to get their workday started because they are so overwhelmed that they literally have no idea where to start - and so they don't do anything. If this is the case, it's time for an honest assessment of what you are spending your time on each day. Consider outsourcing some of these jobs to affordable freelancers. But until you find the right helper/s, just pick anything from your to-do list and just do it.
4. Outsource Tasks That Drag You Down
There are always going to be tasks you love doing and look forward to each day. Chances are you are good at them, they are interesting, and you are proud of your work. Then there are the tasks that are dull, boring and you hate them. There are millions of freelancers online who can take these tasks off your plate so you can happily spend your time doing the things you love.
5. Manage Your Time Better
One reason you might feel unmotivated is that you're spending so many hours on your business, but don't seem to be getting the results you were hoping for. There might be a couple of reasons for this. One is that your hours are really not as productive as you think they are. Create a spreadsheet to track typical work days. Every 15 minutes, write down what you have accomplished. Then see how much of your work sessions can be spent on things that really grow your business.
6. Reward Yourself
Give yourself a little treat at the end of each task you complete. It could be a break, a nice hot cup of coffee, or five minutes of watching funny videos online - just don't get carried away.
Being a business owner can be overwhelming and exhausting. So how do some people seem to thrive and achieve their goals and dreams while others struggle? The answer is mindset. To start taking steps today to embrace a success mindset download my free checklist, Cultivating A Business Mindset at https://jonallo.com/mindset

Jim Rohn Reveals The Secret To Making More Money

The Secret to Think and Grow Rich Revealed | Bob Proctor

Daily Practices for Focus, Peace & Joy

I know sometimes I must sound like a broken record. I repeat myself again and again to my clients, my students, my friends, my family. And I'll say it again. Self-care is not an option if you want to live a happy, peaceful life. Especially if you're a sensitive, empathic, person.
Self-care, of course, includes the obvious elements, such as a nutrient-rich-plant-rich-diet, plenty of exercise, and good hygiene. None are optional if you want to maintain good health.
To maintain happiness and inner-peace, self-care must include emotional, spiritual practices as well. My daily practices, which I share below, help me stay centered, focused, optimistic, connected, creative, productive, peaceful, and happy.
These are the tools and techniques that work for me. With most, I mix and match, depending upon the day, the amount of time available, and my emotional/spiritual needs. Some practices, such as Meditation and Gratitude, are non-negotiable, and I do them every day.
Most days I usually do at least 4 or 5 of these techniques. Some days I do only 2. Other days I might do them all! Some are so quick, or so easy to fit in my day, that they don't take 'extra time.' And, truth be told, when I don't do anything, which does happen once in a while, I feel completely off, out of focus, and anxious. That's why I use a checklist to track my progress. I've learned the hard way, it's not worth falling off track.
Create your own plan. Take any of the following techniques that work for you, add in your own, and tuck them into pockets throughout your day. Choose at least one activity, such as meditation, to do each day, no matter what. None of the activities need to take a lot of time. And, as long as you're peppering them throughout the day, you'll be optimizing your energy.
Meditation I practice some form of meditation, each day, from 10 to 60 minutes. Some days I do two or more shorter meditations. Insight Timer is a fantastic, free, app that I use to time my meditations. It comes with an extensive library of sounds, bells, meditations, and music.
Abundance Meditation For this meditation, I use The Abundance Book, by John Randolph Price. It's a little green book with 10 principle statements. I meditate on one principle a day for 15 minutes, for 40 days or more. This helps keep me in an abundant, spiritual, frame of mind.
Gratitude Meditation Closing my eyes, I meditate for 5 minutes on something for which I am grateful. It can be something that I already have, or that I would like to have. This sense of gratitude feels truly authentic, and really, really good.
Goals I hand-write write my goals, in present tense, expressing my gratitude for reaching them. This feels good, and it helps me keep on top of my goals. I write my goals nearly every day. This takes about 10 minutes.
Morning Pages Originated by Author Julia Cameron, morning pages are 3 hand-written free-flow pages each morning. They're invaluable for clearing the mind, and sparking creative flow.
Yoga or ExerciseExercising in the morning invigorates me for the rest of the day. Movement is crucial for efficient energy flow, lymph flow, strength, anxiety release, and more.
Heart Breath I add the Heart Breath in whenever I feel stuck in my head. The Heart Breath helps me drop out of a busy, over-worked mind, into the peace and calm of my heart. It's a great tool for reducing anxiety. 1 minute, or longer.
Uplifting Reading Somewhere during my day, I find time to read. Sometimes it's work-related, but it's always uplifting.
Uplifting Listening This includes music, podcasts, Hayhouse Radio, audio courses, and more. I like to listen when I make dinner. This helps keep me in a positive, optimistic, frame of mind.
EFT Tapping This is an any-time-of-the-day, as-needed, practice. EFT Tapping is perfect for releasing anxiety, tension, fear, sadness, or any other unwanted feelings that might creep in.
More Gratitude Gratitude is something that can be expressed in many ways throughout the day. In addition to my 5-minute gratitude meditation, I enjoy spontaneous moments of gratitude, or write a gratitude list, or a thank you note, or simply say thank you, thank you, thank you as I do something that brings me joy. Gratitude helps me feel more connected to the spiritual world. And, the more grateful I am, the more I have to be grateful for.
Nature Walk Nothing better for pleasing the senses and soothing the soul.
Enjoy! And reach out -- let me know what works for you!
In Courage,
Marian

IT'S POSSIBLE (Les Brown's Greatest Hits)

How To Turn Your Fear Into Fuel | Lisa Nichols

8 Ways to Gain Impulse Control

Do you struggle with being able to control your impulses? Do you find it hard to stop yourself from indulging when you would like to be more in control? This could mean anything from trying to stop yourself from overeating or maybe shopping and buying something you know you shouldn't buy right now. Or maybe you want to stop yourself from gambling too much, or maybe your impulses are causing you to chase after someone you know is clearly wrong for you but you just can't seem to stop yourself from this destructive pattern. Impulse control can take many forms in your life. It doesn't really matter what form of impulses we're talking about here, the issue is all the same. When the impulse to do the destructive behavior comes over you it's difficult to control it and that's what we're trying to gain mastery over.
So how do we do that? Well, I'm going to show you how you can re-direct your brain and change those pathways to different and more healthy patterns so that you're not caught up in that self-destructive loop anymore.
Negative impulses are an unhealthy way of behaving so the first thing we need to do is begin a healthier way of behaving. So consider the following steps to clearing away the negative energy and replacing it with positive new habits.
  1. Get plenty of sleep. Studies have shown that sleep deprivation has a negative impact on your ability to control your impulses. In some severe cases it can cause you to be confused and even appear drunk and affect your cognitive ability. Sleep is very important for many other aspects of our lives as well. It's a well known fact that people who get less than 6 hours of sleep have a harder time losing weight than people who are well rested.
  1. Drink plenty of water. Dehydration is a serious issue. In addition to throwing off your electrolytes it can cause you to think you're hungry and can cause you to have difficulty concentrating, paying attention, and controlling your impulses, even mimicking dementia in some cases.
  1. Keep busy. This may sound trite, but if you know you have a problem with impulse control in some area such as eating, or smoking, gambling or anything else that you are especially aware of then you can absolutely be aware of it and get a hobby or find some activity that you know you can do when these impulses arise. If you know you'll want to have a snack at 3 pm or maybe a cigarette, then maybe arrange to work on your hobby then or read a book, or work on some craft. When I quit smoking "cold turkey" 30 years ago, I planned ahead for this and when the cravings took hold I taught myself to crochet and make hooked rugs so my hands were always busy and I never wanted to stop what I was working on to go out and have a cigarette. This method worked perfectly and not only did it help with my impulse control everyone got a pair of crocheted slippers that Christmas as well.
  1. Meet new people. Join new activities/groups. At the time I was quitting smoking, I joined several classes to learn new crafts such as the rug hooking class and also a microwave cooking class. This not only got me out of the house, but I met a bunch of new and interesting people which in turn got me into other interests. One of the women I met was into macramé and she taught me how to do that so I began making macramé tables and purses. I got very crafty. AND BUSY! And I also was going out with these new people so it got my mind off of my impulses. I was creating new brain pathways and changing the old ones.
  1. Exercise. This one could be a hard one if you don't like exercise. I don't like it, but it was good for me. I joined a gym and began going to the gym daily after work. When you're at the gym you can't be smoking or snacking. And you're with healthy, busy people. This kind of healthy behavior can't help but rub off on you. But you don't have to spend money at the gym. Walking is free and so is body weight exercise you can do at home. The point is just to do something healthy for your body that is counter-productive to the unhealthy behaviors you were previously doing. Before long you'll realize that you don't have those unhealthy impulses anymore because you've replaced them with healthier ones.
  1. Eat right. Learn healthy ways to eat and maybe try some new recipes with healthier ways to have your favorite foods. It can't hurt and it's always fun to try new foods that you've never tried before. Maybe try some new international recipes. Expand your horizons. Maybe cut back on your portions a little bit and see what happens. You might find that you don't require as much food as you always ate before. Change it up a little bit.
  1. Meditate. This is good for your health and your soul. Try to take a little time each day to just meditate for a few minutes. Have a little quiet time and relax. Give your body time to recharge it's batteries.
8.Be Grateful. I try to be thankful each and every day for all of my blessings. I believe that being grateful puts you in a zen state and makes you aware of how blessed you are and makes you want to do for others and make them happy too. I believe impulse control comes from being in a state of balance and gratitude.

How I Used The Law Of Attraction To Escape Debt, Fear And Panic

I was in my late 30's and nothing was going right. I was working in a building supplies yard picking up rubbish for minimum wage. I thought I had a bright future but everything just seemed to go wrong somewhere.
I'd picked up this job from an agency and soon got some H.G.V. (heavy goods vehicle) work, having just got my licence. But things just got worse and worse and worse! I had a number of crashes while driving on jobs delivering. I hit a bridge, a car and managed to drop someone's chutney - a whole pallet load, much to the owners dismay! That wasn't my best day - nor his.
Things were conspiring against me, I thought. Everywhere I went, devastation followed. My relationships were in tatters and my debt was growing. And it seemed there was nothing I could do to turn it all around.
I had remembered watching The Secret a few years earlier and losing patience with my efforts to 'manifest' my dream life (within a week)! Perhaps I was being too impatient! I knew there had to be something in it, so I decided to go back to the drawing board. I quit my job too. I had crashed twice for the same company and was costing them by the day! Just turning up back to the office made my skin crawl, knowing how useless I was!
Things had been better.
I had a huge debt sitting over me and was paying my rent on a credit card. I was just stressed out all the time. This was probably why things spiralled out of control.
I bought every book I could find on the subject of the law of attraction. I was soon in a far better state of mind, despite all the problems which hung over me. I picked up some work and started teaching a martial arts classes, something that had been a passion for years.
Things that I had given up on turned up to help me get back on track. Years earlier I had trained to do stunt work but my self-esteem had got so low that I had almost written it off as a bad idea. I picked up a few jobs and was able to pay off most of my credit card debt within a period of about 6 months.
My then girlfriend left me. I was away working on a film when it happened. I fell back into victim mode but knew I had to stay positive. I was beginning to realise that my state was the most important thing, and it was also my worse enemy.
Over the previous several months I had read every book I could find which mentioned the law of attraction: Working with the law by Raymond Holliwell, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Wallace Wattles - The Science Of Getting Rich, As A Man Thinketh, James Allen and so on and so on!
All these books taught the law of attraction and explained it in far greater detail than was explained in the movie The Secret. In the film The Secret, it is explained as thoughts becoming things. When I first saw the film, I was inspired but I didn't fully understand it. I thought I understood it but it was only superficial. I watched my thoughts and dreamt of what I wanted, but somehow things kept showing up that I didn't want.
Turns out I wasn't as positive as I thought I was! Despite spending a few hours meditation and visualising what a great life I would be having, it became clear later that I spent the rest of my time complaining and worrying. Not useful when you're trying to attract the wonderful life.
The problem was my life was worry (for me)! I was focusing on what was, not what could be. So I kept reinforcing the old patterns of behaviour and creating the 'stuff' to complain about.
Despite the short-term rest-bite which work gave me, I was unable to spend my time in any kind of enjoyment. I always defaulted back to my worry-some state of mind and over working in some way. My only escape from this state of mind which I constantly revisited was in getting drunk whenever the opportunity presented itself.
This of course didn't help my state of mind nor my bank balance. Whenever I gave up drinking, my life seemed to dramatically improve. I had money, work came in and things got better. But with the constant worrying and obsessing over needing a more secure source of income, plus having a lot of time off, I would inevitably find my self back on the booze!
When I finally clued up to this pattern I was creating, things began to change. I found an online mentorship program and learned how to market my kung fu school more effectively as well as build an online business. This gave me something to focus my restless mind on - which is what I was in desperate need of.
Having the right people in my life now is completely invaluable. I realise I had cut myself off from people and was spending a lot of time alone. This itself led to depression and anxiety. However, my connection to the online community meant I could network and meet up in person with other like-minded people. There was a resource online to connect to through social media and I started meeting people in my local area.
Through using what I believe to be the law of attraction, I've managed to escape the 9 to 5 jobs I hated so much, get out of a rut and overcome lack of confidence, fear and panic. I'm now able to work from home and teach martial arts without a job, a boss or to answer to anyone. It wasn't easy, but if I can do it, so can you!
What do you believe about the law of attraction. Will you take the red pill or the blue pill? Take the blue pill and the story ends, wake up in bed and believe whatever you want to believe. Take the red pill and you stay in wonderland and see how far the rabbit hole goes...

Dr. Joe Dispenza: Transform Your Mind with Lewis Howes

Law Of Attraction Anger

I recently became aware of some powerful attractive forces which have been working in my life for a long period of time.
Uncovering the source of many of my life's problems was a huge moment of relief. I realised that an unconscious behaviour pattern, which was established in my youth, had been perpetuating many of my problems and difficulties.
When things start appearing in life which you're dissatisfied with, you might become angry and try to push them away. But what if you're the cause of these situations and circumstances and they are trying to teach you something? What if pushing them away only draws more of the same into your life?
There's a well known sports related visualisation technique called visual motor rehearsal. In the film The Secret, Denis Waitley talks about this technique which he used in the olympics to train athletes.
When the athletes were told to rehearse in their minds the action in their sports, the same muscles fired in the same order as they would during an actual physical situation.
The mind didn't know the difference between the actual physical circumstances and the visualisation techniques. The things we 'see' and rehearse in the mind are brought about in reality as situations, events and circumstances.
My problem was, I was rehearsing fighting with my brother. I was 'stuck' in this 'daydream' because it was how I remembered my brother after he had died. It was the most powerful way to remember him.
I created a number of actual physical confrontations and got heavily into the martial arts for a number of years.
When things continued to be difficult, frustrating and confrontational in working life, I withdrew from life and from work altogether to avoid the pain associated with these feelings I kept perpetuating.
I kept asking myself why was my life so difficult. Surly this isn't what most people experience in life? Why was everything so painful and emotionally draining?
Once I uncovered this insight into my own mind, I could see the truth of what I was continually creating in life. I was angry and not at peace in my own mind. Therefore I kept perpetuating difficult, traumatic circumstances.
I am sure that many people are doing this - creating adversity because it gives their life meaning and importance, in some way. In what ways do you make yourself important at the expense of your peace of mind and happiness?
What visual images are you continually thinking about?
Many of my 'daydreams' were patterns of thinking which I was unconscious of. It took a lot of pain and insight to stop and really take a close look at my thoughts and emotional habit patterns.
I began meditating and quit drinking alcohol. I started spending more time on positive habits and less time with people who reinforced negative, and angry emotions within me.
This took some time. With regular daily meditation I became more aware of my thinking processes. When I drifted into a negative thinking pattern, I was able to notice. Whereas for years I must have run these old programs on autopilot.
This process was like letting go of who I thought I was.
When you identify with a certain emotion, you begin to think you are that emotion. You begin to think you are your thoughts. When there's nothing to fight against, large pieces of your world view fall away. It feels like you're losing your mind.
Who are we without our problems and difficulties? They often define us and give us our identity. They give us structure to hold on to!
When you become the observer, through learning meditation, you can notice what's going on inside and realise how it controls your life.
So if you're giving a lot of time and attention to negative, angry and difficult emotions, thoughts and words, consider that you may be addicted to them. You may be giving yourself an identity to hold on to, because without it, you won't know who you are.
Think about which friends you hang about with. Do you talk about things which annoy and frustrate you? To really change your life, you must stop giving thoughts and attention to the things which grow your angers and frustrations. Stop spending time with people who anger you and bring up those angry and frustrated feelings within you.
Learn how to meditate and detach yourself from your thinking. Learn to be the silent watcher. There's power in being an observer and not always being the talker who has to engage and react.
The law of attraction is a powerful force in life. If we are to learn how to use it properly to create more enjoyment and improve our lives, we must first become more conscious of the thoughts and emotions we are living already. Without this awareness, we will continue to create more difficulties on an unconscious level and blame the law of attraction saying it isn't working. When in fact it does work. You just don't understand how yet!

Achieve More in Your Business Using the Power of a Mastermind Group

I have interviewed over 1100 entrepreneurs and business owners on the secrets of their success and one of the things that I find many of them do is find support from being a member of a business mastermind. The mastermind concept was first talked about by Napoleon Hill in the 1930s when he described it as 'the coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.'
Owning a business comes with a heavy burden of responsibility. Every day you are faced with making decisions and often the choices made may be nothing better than a guess based on gut instinct. As well as this you have to figure out how to organise your time to be most effective. While you may have created a business for independence and lack of accountability to other people ultimately, we all become accountable in business to our family, our employees and other people who support us in our business. There is an immense psychological weight that comes with owning your own business. Often business owners have no one to turn to for support, advice or opinion and feel alone on their journey. With all of this weight on their shoulders, they somehow have to make the right decisions with a constant awareness of the consequences of bad decisions. However, there is another way by using the power of a business mastermind.
A mastermind is a group of 5 to 9 people who share a common objective, for example growing their business, who meet on a regular basis to help and support one another. Each member of the group should contribute their wisdom equally to the group and offer mastermind members access to their personal network and resources. When the group meets, they will focus on a commonly agreed topic and all members get to benefit from the conversations that take place.
A business mastermind group is a safe place where the like-minded members share intimate business secrets with the community and get the benefit of the wisdom, thoughts, knowledge and support of the group. Being a member of a mastermind group also creates a sense of connectivity with other similar people who 'get it', there is a sense of camaraderie and shared understanding. It is an incredibly powerful way of networking and forming strong friendship bonds with other like-minded entrepreneurs in a trusted circle of colleagues.
Joining a business mastermind requires a moment of honesty and the part of the entrepreneur because you have to be willing to share what does and doesn't work within your business and you also have to be willing to take advice from other peers in the group. Furthermore, you must also be willing to be held accountable for any commitments that you make to the group. Without this level of openness, authenticity and willingness to grow and learn neither the group nor you will benefit from your involvement in the group. When you join a mastermind, it is also important to have goals of what you intend to achieve during your time in the mastermind and then use the power of the mastermind to help you achieve them.
Being a member of the right mastermind group, you become incredibly focused on your goals and objectives and you are much more likely to achieve them faster than you would otherwise do and therefore your business will move forward at a faster pace. When you have ideas or challenges you can use the power of the group to brainstorm them and get feedback, insight, ideas, suggested resources, different perspectives, solutions, new possibilities, questions, help and at the same time you learn from the other members. You also benefit from being potentially introduced to people in other mastermind member's networks who can provide the right advice quickly. You get multiple perspectives on what it is want to solve and you also get real clarity on how you can achieve it - you take a lot of the guessing out of making decisions.
Within a business mastermind group, there is a shared sense of we are in this together and everybody is rooting for your success. Because you make commitments to the group and the group wants you to succeed this creates incredibly powerful accountability with a 'push' and 'pull' effect on you ensuring that you do what you say you are going to do to make a successful outcome more likely.

Elon Musk: How To Achieve 10x More Than Your Peers

4 Daily Habits Of the Most Successful Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship is hard. It needs unswerving discipline, and confidence in yourself and your business. Lots of people lack the opportunity to enjoy it. But for the few who are determined and ready to put in the hard work, entrepreneurship is the most fulfilling job, identity and lifestyle in the world.
Let's look at 4 daily habits of successful entrepreneurs.
1. They stick to a routine
A day has 24 hours only and as an entrepreneur, time is the most valuable thing in the world. To get the maximum potential out of every day, successful entrepreneurs follow a strict schedule.
For instance, Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, schedules his whole day in five-minute blocks and he breaks up his week, where on Mondays and Thursdays he focuses on SpaceX and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays he pays attention to Tesla. He splits Fridays between both companies.
2. They read a lot
Most successful entrepreneurs make learning a regular daily habit. For instance, Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder, reads 50 books a year. As an entrepreneur, you need to learn as the world is continually changing, and the most impactful entrepreneurs create their profiles by improving their knowledge.
If your background is in design and strategy, as an entrepreneur you must have engineering and computer science knowledge to contribute meaningfully to your ventures. Examine your future goals and establish what skills and capabilities may hinder you, then start learning today to be ready for those roadblocks. For engineers and designers, that obstacle may be management, finance or project planning. Yours may surprise you!
3. They exercise daily
Yes, exercise keeps your body fit and the mind sharp, and it has a great impact on an entrepreneur's long-term achievement. The reason is that it relieves stress and helps maintain a healthy work-life balance. Many successful entrepreneurs attribute their success to exercising and keeping fit. Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, increases his productivity with daily exercise.
Don't make excuses! Fitness and mental calmness are essential for a happy lifestyle. They're the building blocks to your productivity for days, weeks and months. Find a sport, activity, or practice suitable for you and make it habitual by being responsible.
4. They stay positive
As an entrepreneur, you'll face many challenges, but what makes you succeed is a positive and creative mindset. Every day. Being able to see things from a positive dimension means you can see interesting and unique opportunities others can't see.
If you can't remain positive, it's time for a change. For instance, Steve Jobs started his mornings by repeating a simple mantra: "If today was the last day of my life, would I want to do what I'm about to do today?" If he answered this question with a "No," then he knew it was time to make a change.
Being an entrepreneur can be overwhelming and exhausting. So how do some people seem to thrive and achieve their goals and dreams while others struggle? The answer is mindset. Practicing Mindfulness in Turbulent Times

"Mindfulness" = The moment to moment awareness of experience just the way it is. ~Liz Korabek-Emerson
I don't know about you, but I could practice being more mindful today. And... every day, every moment, every breath. Recent posts have centered on holding difficult conversations amid the stress of turbulent times, and I thought I'd bring it down a notch and talk about theantidote to stress, which also happens to be a way to calm emotional triggers, find balance, and regain power under pressure--mindfulness meditation.
Practicing Mindfulness in Turbulent Times
Liz Korabek-Emerson--mindfulness teacher, transformational workshop leader and creative coach--describes mindfulness as "the moment to moment awareness of experience just the way it is." I attended a mindfulness training with Liz recently, and was reminded of how the mind is always looking for thoughts to focus on. In Liz's session, my mind settled and returned to the present each time I came back to the breath. I had to come back many times, because my thoughts (ever wandering) drew me away. And... that's the practice.
My mentor Thomas Crum writes about the difference between Being and Doing. I'm a "do-er" -- I like to organize and get stuff done. I'm usually thinking about what's next on my list before I've even finished the task at hand. Consequently, I need to practice bringing myself back to the present--a lot!
Although I meditate daily and teach centering in my trainings, I'm still amazed at the way my mind is constantly busy--Did I remember to buy those tickets? How should I reply to that email? Will Mom manage okay while I'm away? I wish I'd kept my mouth shut yesterday! And equally amazed at how bringing my wandering mind back is a constant practice.
I asked Liz if I could reprint an article from her blog that speaks to that worry, "Am I doing it right?" -- which I think we all have when the mind wanders. She graciously said yes.
Enjoy this simple summons to a kinder, happier and more connected you, and if you are looking for a centered and powerful mindfulness meditation teacher, go find Liz.
The Measure of Success
by Liz Korabek-Emerson
The measure of success of our practice is...
Not the number of sessions, or how good we are at it, or how long we sit (although we still have to show up and do it)
But in how kind we are, to ourselves and then others, how connected we feel to our life and the people around us, how happy we are - not in that "I got everything I wanted for Xmas" happy but in the kind of happiness that enables us to be resilient, to bounce back and continue to be in the natural flow of life - meeting difficulties without adding to our burdens, recognizing our common humanity and wholeheartedly embracing joy as it tumbles unexpectedly into our days. In short, happy to be with things just the way they are; including ourselves, other people and life situations.
Sharon Saltzberg, a long time practitioner and teacher has written that "we don't watch our breath just to become good breath-watchers". And I think this is true. We watch our breath because it is the basic practice, the vehicle through which we cultivate a mind that is focused, open and flexible. But we practice because the world could use more kindness, strength and clarity.
Couldn't you?

Before You Waste Time - WATCH THIS | by Jay Shetty

Why Energy, When We Have So Many Other Ways to Be Better Physically, Mentally and Emotionally?

Such an interesting question asked to me by someone. Why would I work with my energy or be even concerned about my Vitality when I have so many other things to do?
This question can be approached with many perspectives. I will begin with the one most familiar to me.
Energy is the most accessible
Energy is everywhere, every single place that you can think of. It is the most accessible thing to us. Playing a piece of music on the phone in your hand is farther than the Energy around you. Energy is something that is so easily accessible, you do not even have to move your body parts to access it.
Energy is most easily convertible
Energy is such a wonderful thing that it can be easily converted from one form to another. The best part is that only You have the power over your energy. No other than You can convert it in the form you want. Even your emotions are energy. Want to feel good? Just convert the energy around you to feeling good. Energy is such a subtle creation that it is easier to mold it than wet sand on the beach. It is a great toy to play with for all ages! You can use it any way you want. The key is knowing clearly what you want.
Energy is very powerful
Although being humble enough to be converted at your will, it cannot be destroyed. It is extremely powerful, it can never be destroyed, just converted from one form to another. Are you experiencing some unwanted energy around you? Remember, it can be converted.
Energy is the core of our creation. Everything within us and around us is Energy. We access it every single moment, convert it every single moment and make it work for us unconsciously. It is natural for us to play with energy. We have known it all the time.
Any discomfort you feel in your body, or in life in general, is because you have forgotten your play with Energy around you. You need to recall the play.
Any method that you are using to make your life better than what it is, has Energy at its roots. There are infinite ways to approach/access your Energy and mold it the way you want. You can choose what you feel the most comfortable with.
Breathe to access your Energy
One of the easiest and most common way is "Breathing", yes your breathing. We breathe all the time, most of the times unknowingly. We know breathing so well, that we don't have to do it consciously. We do it unconsciously all the time. Close your eyes, and focus on your breathing for atleast 5-7 breaths. You will notice reduction in your thoughts. Open your eyes and try to notice what you feel different. You just accessed and molded your energy into something you don't know because you did not have anything in your mind at that time.
Now try with intention, for example, I want to feel happy (mold my energy into happiness). Think about how you want to feel and do that same thing (close your eyes, focus only on your breathing for atleast 5-7 cycles and open your eyes). Observe your feelings. Are you smiling?
The key is to avoid any other distraction/thought during those 5-7 breaths. After achieving some success ask yourself what do you want to do with this.
Have fun with your life, have fun with your Energy! It is all Yours.
Healing is also one of the ways to get better at knowing your Energy. If you feel you have some form of physical, emotional or mental discomfort/issue, you can work with your energy and heal your aspects and live life as you desire, not being controlled by your issues.
The Vitality Cafe can help you in the process. The Vitality Cafe is an energy cafe that helps you recharge your body, rejuvenate your thoughts and restore your emotional balance.

In Courage,
Marian

11 Risk Factors That Destroy Your Brain | Dr. Daniel Amen on Health Theory 354,719 views

We All Love To Win, If You Do Not Like To Work Toward It, You Do Not Really Want It

We all want an "easier way to win" than we see the path of, so to speak. We all have complaints about how hard our road is, and some even claim they have it too easy and complain in the opposite direction of the people who complain how hard their road is. Either way, a complaint is a complaint, and all satisfaction is genuinely up to you and your mind as it is up to my mind and my personal reality. Also, either way, wanting something is more exciting than having it most of the time. It sounds a little stupid, indeed, though that reality of life is a human truth. Everyone wants an easier way to get what they want and want something better than they have usually.
Recently, I faced a few small crisis points that told me in so many ways about the realities about life I have just mentioned culminating with my Mother telling me that it could be worse, and I should be grateful that it is not worse.
Listen, we all prefer better, and we all prefer to consistently and always win, but, without the bad, we definitely cannot have the good. I realize that. Indeed, what I also realize is that without losers, you cannot have winners. I know that is a reality that sounds horribly dualistic, but without up, you cannot have down and the other directions, and political correctness about it will save nobody. The only way out is through with objective correctness or realistic correctness.
Recently, I watched a Dr. Matt James video on you tube about cause and effect and realized the full basis of this article that you can only make a better effect by working fully on the cause in reality. It cannot work any other way or for all down time, there is always up time. For every flower blooming there are weeds dying somewhere.
Like anyone, I would love to circumvent the "bad medicine" and the "even worse" cure that comes from the "bad medicine". Reality is bitter work and sweet reward, almost always. It could work in other ways as genuinely anything is rationally possible such as bitter rewards and sweet work, or the process being better than the end. Again, the reward and win is in the eye and mind of the beholder, so is the genuine loss.
There are certain solutions that have a "did the chicken or the egg come first?" type thing going on, and I just mentioned one of those realities. It is up to you.

Punch It!

When you really want it, change is very easy. When you do not want it, change is seemingly infinitely hard. When I say the words in my title "punch it!", I write about the changes really wanted by a person fully and succinctly and nothing else, not what is not wanted. Sure, training for that instant change can take years. The instant change though is just that when conditioned enough, it is instant. It is instant as throwing a switch to activate a mechanism or pushing a button to get a complicated result prepared for.
Recently, I faced this reality of change in my life that happened in an instant, although I spent years preparing for it. I thought to myself, all of this preparation for a change that happened in a few minutes of things done. It came down to an attitude, not so much a fixed reality.
Okay, I decided to be a total optimist and not let any negativity or fear affect me in the fullest sense. Although I still take my antidepressant medication/antipsychotic medication prescribed by my doctor, I look at the world fully differently and I take full responsibility for my reality instead of letting it lead me around. I live with full tilt understanding of what it takes to live reasonably from the ground up. That is the shift, lever or button I am punching. I am all right with it all within myself however it happens. I am all right with the up, down and all around with the roller coaster of life as long as I can have a great attitude about it. That is all.
So, when I say the words "punch it!", that is exactly what I mean. "Keep a great attitude above the vicissitudes, and you will ultimately get somewhere great" is said, but I can now fully and honestly, with total transparency mean it all in the fullest, most real and meaningful way. I got that "keep a great attitude above the vicissitudes" saying from Beverly "Zig" Ziglar. Also, I got the "punch it!" idea from a Bruce Greenwood/Captain Christopher Robin Pike line in the 2009 "Star Trek" movie with Chris Pine as James Tiberius Kirk. Seriously though folks, when it comes to an idea whose time has come, all that can be done is to punch it literally in that sense when really thought about. Indeed, even without my medication, I can understand that I would have the same viewpoint about life, after all, reality is an attitude anyway, not a fixed state based on some "sense" of perfection. So, that brings me down to this:
We all have the same luck ultimately, just different viewpoints and attitudes about it that validate or invalidate it. Fortunes are made and not given to us through our attitudes and actions, and nothing else. Agree or disagree, the honest facts always work when it comes down to it, and nothing else does the job, especially dishonesty and fear of anything. So, change is as simple as a "Punch" when it really wants and needs to happen, when it does not want or need to happen succinctly and powerfully, that is the complication. After all, what do you think that guy I met running at El Segundo City/Dockweiler State Beach meant in a certain book and a certain audio recording series he wrote a few years later by create a compelling life/create a compelling future and unleash the power within and all of those seemingly ridiculous slogans?
My name is Joshua Clayton, I am a freelance writer based in Inglewood, California. I also write under a few pen-names and aliases, but Joshua Clayton is my real name, and I write by that for the most part now.

The 30-Day Challenge to Use Affirmations and Visualization for Good Luck

There has been a lot of hype and media coverage about the Law of Attraction in recent years, especially after the release of the movie, The Secret. There seems to be a lot of emotion around this subject, both for and against. This is no surprise, given that we have changed as a society to have much less patience and a reduced attention span. I will delve deeper into all of this in a future article.
The tools associated with the Law of Attraction do work, and they work well. Most of the misunderstanding about these tools is due to people not really taking the time to give them a whirl.
So here's the 30-day challenge, should you choose to accept it
Take 30 days to use affirmations and visualization to improve your luck. This will not be likely to make you win the lottery, but should manifest as better luck in the smaller things in life. After 30 days, review how your luck has changed for the better.
When you do this, and it works will for you, keep doing it and start using some of the other tools available to improve your life dramatically.
Affirmations for Good Luck
You can use an affirmation such as "I always have great luck" or something similar that works best for you. Keep it short and easy to remember and repeat. It should be in the present-tense, in the "now." Repeat this affirmation first thing in the morning, even before you rise out of bed, when you're having a bath or shower, driving, while you're falling asleep and any time your mind isn't focused on a specific task.
Pay attention to what happens around you. Are you starting to make it through green lights, finding better parking spaces? Look for little things such as those. Whenever you notice a good luck event, say something like "Wow! I DO have the greatest luck" to reinforce the event both in your own mind and the universal energy.
Visualization for Good Luck
Visualization is a technique in which you "see" something happening in your mind's eye. With practice, it becomes easier and the things you visualize become more clear and detailed. It is somewhat akin to daydreaming, but done intentionally and directed by you. To visualize, close your eyes and start imagining yourself experiencing events that have been brought on by good luck (Please do not use this while driving or operating heavy equipment). As with the traffic light example above, you would see yourself easily making it to your destination with light traffic and every single traffic light being green. Another fun one is to see yourself finding a dime or quarter on the ground as you walk along. Be creative in your imagination!
Results?
Do your affirmations and visualization exercises for 30 days and be observant throughout the process. If you wish, take notes and review them at the end of the 30 days. Think about how your luck was before this and the differences you have observed. Good Luck!
